Popular international artist Gayle Fitzgerald will headline a concert in aid of the CFA at the Euroa Third Age Club on Thursday 22 October, at 2pm.
Anyone familiar with Gayle's background will be aware that she grew up in country Victoria (including some time in Euroa) and showed a passion for singing from a very early age.
Singing lead roles in school musicals and on the weekends at local pubs led to a successful career all over Australia and then to Canada and the USA, where she played at several venues over the four years she lived there. While in America, appearances at Memphis, LA and the home of country music, Nashville, rounded out a busy schedule.
Gayle's four visits to the Tamworth Country Music Festival netted awards of Best New Talent, Best Gospel Singer and Best Own Composition, just to name a few. She was also a finalist in the Starmaker competition.
An Encouragement Award on the television programme "Showcase" judged by Dennis Walter, and other TV appearances, subsequently led to a hectic life of playing guitar and singing six nights a week on the Melbourne pub, club, night club and wedding scene.
As well as the above, Gayle has been a guest at many Country Music Festivals and has also won competitions at Lakes Entrance, Port Pirie (SA) and Echuca. She has been the featured soloist on the Spirit of Tasmania and on the Gold Coast for several years.
Gayle has been in the music industry for thirty-three years now and has loved where her music has taken her. That road led back to Euroa three years ago, to marry David Mawson, and they now have three little boys to keep them busy: Brandon, Jaxon and Charlie. At present Gayle is teaching guitar and singing to children in the local schools and is recording her first CD of original songs.
Tickets to Gayle's concert will be available at the clubroom door in Kirkland Avenue door at $10 per person.
